Bollywood Nights

For one night Regent Street’s food quarter on Heddon Street will be transformed into an open-air cinema screening a classic Bollywood film.
On Wednesday August 29th ‘Lage Raho Munna’ will be screened from 6.30pm on a 27 square metre screen, with a state of the art sound system as a taster of things to come at the Regent Street festival in September.
The colour and exotic glamour of Bollywood will come to life in the street as traditional Indian dancers perform before the start of the film as diners sit down to eat alfresco whilst the film is showing.
The synopsis of ‘Lage Raho Munna’ is as follows… Munna, the local goon of Mumbai, is in love with the voice of popular Radio Jockey Jhanvi (Vidya Balan).
Life is beautiful for Munna - his business is flourishing, he listens besotted to the radio for hours every day, he dreams of marrying Jhanvi.
There is just one “minor†problem.
Jhanvi thinks Munna is a Professor of History.
Poor Munna!
As he tries to sort out this “minor†entanglement, the most unusual thing occurs…
What happens when the Present meets the Past?
What happens when our Professor of History encounters a Figure from History?
What happens when a slap on the face is greeted with turning the other cheek?
Turn up to find out…
