Get into the China In London season this winter in London town

chinainlondonlogo_main.jpgDuring February, March and April China will be coming to London in a big way.

The Chinese New Year will be celebrated all over Central London on February 10th but in addition to these celebrations the Mayor of London has organised some very special events in the run up to the Olympic Flame passing through London on its way to Beijing for the Olympic Games taking place there in August.

The China in London season will start on 6th February, to mark the launch of the third China in London season and celebrate the start of an Olympic year for both China and London, the new Olympic sport of BMX riding will come to Oxford Circus. A BMX rider will take to a fourteen foot ramp and perform spectacular stunts whilst the Chinese lanterns are being lit up above Oxford Circus at 5pm. VIP guests and Olympic athletes will be switching on the newly created Chinese New Year Lanterns from the end of the ramp.

The season will continue until the Olympic Torch Relay on April 6th when the Olympic flame comes to London as it travels around the world on its way to the start of the Beijing Games.

Other events will be taking place over February and March including so check out our Dance and Theatre and Exhibitions sections for more information.
