Derek Jarman Curated By Isaac Julien
Head down to the Serpentine Gallery for Derek Jarman Curated By Isaac Julien
The Serpentine Gallery presents a survey of one of Britain's leading filmmakers highlighting aspects of Jarman's work in film and painting.
The survey includes his pioneering presentation of the moving image within the gallery context. Julien will curate an immersive environment featuring Jarman's early experiments on Super-8 film, an installation of his film Blue, 1993, and a selection of his 'black paintings'.
The starting point for this reappraisal is Julien's new film about Jarman, produced with the support of Channel 4 and Film London.
The event runs from February 23rd to April 13th and is open daily from 10am to 6pm.
