Enjoy the breathtaking art work of Silia Ka Tung at a new exhibition in Swiss Cottage
Sample the delightful work of Silia Ka Tung at a new exhibition in the Swiss Cottage Central Library.
Silia Ka Tung grew up with a fascination for nature and the human body. She paints imaginary micro-graphics and doodle scenes of living organisms, a magical world celebrated on canvas. Part of a generation that grew up surrounded by graphic imagery, her work has its roots in the dynamic and the optimistic, Silia uses vivid, saturated colours and crispy lines against flat backgrounds.
Her dynamic compositions reflect the influence of cartoons, billboards and the computer games of her youth, as well as that of traditional Chinese folk art. The brightly coloured images use reflected images that recall the designs of William Morris as well as the animated neon advertising signs of East Asian cities.
Her new exhibition runs from Saturday February 23rd to Sunday April 20th. The gallery is open from 10am to 7pm on Mondays, 10am to 6pm on Tuesday, Wednesdays and Fridays, 10am to 8pm on Thursdays and 10am to 5pm on Saturdays.
