An Evening with Julian Barnes
Spend an evening with writer Julian Barnes at the Royal Society of Arts
The wonderful writer Julian Barnes will be gracing the Royal Society of Arts with his presence on April Fools Days.
Together with Blackwell, the Royal Society of Arts will be presenting an evening with Barnes, the author of novels like 'Arthur and George' and 'A History of the World in 10 1/2 Chapters', as he talks about his new book 'Nothing to be Frightened of'.
'I don't believe in God, but I miss him.' Julian Barnes' new book is, among many things, a family memoir, an exchange with his brother (a philosopher), a meditation on mortality and the fear of death, a celebration of art, an argument with and about God, and a homage to the French writer Jules Renard. Though he warns us that 'this is not my autobiography', the result is like a tour of the mind of one of our most brilliant writers.
The event is taking place on Tuesday April 1st from 9pm. The event is completely free but to ensure a place you can book in advance. To book your place email the organisers.
