Colin Halliday - Back To Nature
Take a look at new paintings from Colin Halliday in his new exhibition 'Back To Nature'
British artist Colin Halliday will be opening an exhibition of his work this weekend at StART SPACE on Columbia Road.
Exploring light, the water and some of London's most romantic landmarks; Colin also aims to paint the truth of nature such as the pollution that surround us Londoners amongst the landscape of a great city; a subject that Turner has been the first to explore, portraying the atmospheric effects brought on by the industrial pollution of his own time and creating great masterpieces heavily criticized then, but greatly admired now.
Well over 100 years on, Colin's fearless working methods and technical details together with his selection of materials such as London dirt, swept from the streets and washed over the canvas or photographs with oils and varnish give each image dramatic light, atmospheric and textural effects just as one of old masters but with a contemporary twist.
The exhibition opens on Friday March 7th and runs till Sunday April 13th. The gallery is open Thursday to Saturday from 12pm to 6pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm.
