Enjoy free family workshops at the Horniman Museum this March

family.jpgHead down to the Horniman Museum with your kids this March for a whole host of fun and free workshops!

Workshops taking place in March are: Recycled Book Making, Easter Bunny Egg Holders Workshop and Japanese Kokeshi Figures.

These fantastic workshops are a great way to get your children involved in some handson activities. Some of the workshops are connected to a specific calendar event, like World Book Day or Easter, and some are connected to exhibitions at the Horniman - the Japanese Kokeshi Figures sessions are inspired by the Wrapping Japan exhibition.

The tutor will first take the children around the Museum and show them some things for inspiration (for Japanese Kokeshi Figures this will focus on the Wrapping Japan exhibition) then they will go back and create their own figures. Younger children will participate in a craft session in the Education Centre with a tutor who invites them to make their item using material provided.

Workshops are taking place on the following dates:

Saturday 1st and 8th - Recycled Book Making
Saturday 15th and 22nd - Easter Bunny Egg Holders
Friday 21st - Easter Bunny Egg Holders
Monday 24th - Japanese Kokeshi Figures
Saturday 29th - Japanese Kokeshi Figures

Workshops are open between 11am and 12.30pm for children aged 8+; and between1.30 and 2.15pm and 2.45pm and 3.30pm for families with children aged 3+.
