Fists In The Pocket
Watch 'Fists in the Pocket' for free at the Italian Cultural Institute
The Italian Cultural Institute will be hosting a free screening of Fists In The Pocket as part of the '1968 And Its Legacies' season of events.
This daring debut film, made in 1965 and still considered by many Bellocchio's masterpiece, seems to anticipate the years of student protest, while narrating a family tragedy bordering on horror.
The film will be introduced by writer Maurizio Fantoni Minnella and Professor Robert Lumley.
At the event Maurizio Fantoni Minnella will present his book 'Unreconciled', which reconstructs the recent history of Italian political cinema, from Neo-realism to the present and Lumley will be discussing his book 'Emergency: Cultures of Revolt in Italy 1968-78', focusing on the year 1968.
The event is taking place on Wednesday May 7th at 6.30pm. The event is free but booking in advance is essential, to do so call 020 7396 4430 or email the organisers.
