Love Music Hate Racism Carnival
Be part of the Love Music Hate Racism Carnival in Victoria Park this Sunday!!!
This Sunday Hackney's Victoria Park will be hosting the fantastic Love Music Hate Racism Carnival.
30 years ago The Clash, X-Ray Specs, Steel Oulse, and Tom Robinson performed together in Victoria Park east London. But this was no ordinary concert, it was a carnival hosted by Rock Against Racism and the Anti Nazi League. Around 100,000 people came together that day to say no to the Nazi National Front - and yes to black, white and Asian unity.
Love Music Hate Racism is the child of Rock Against Racism.
30 years on a new generation of musicians and DJs are coming together to celebrate the historic carnival along with some of the artists involved first time round.
But there is another, more important, reason to head down to the LMHR carnival 2008. It's time to make a stand against the facists who are once again polluting our streets and neighbourhoods.
The message of carnival 2008 is simple - Love Music Hate Racism.
Things kicks off at 12pm and the line up looks like this:
