Mat Collishaw - Deliverance
Take a look at Mat Collishaw's new exhibition 'Deliverance' at Spring House in Kentish Town
British artist Mat Collishaw presents Deliverance, a new large-scale projection work using phosphorescent imagery currently wowing visitors at Spring House.
Collishaw is known for works that explore the ambiguous relationship between representation and reality, often using display strategies which make this disjunction apparent.
Deliverance focuses on the media's glamorisation and reportage of dramatic circumstances. In a darkened space, several large-scale projections of 'disaster scenes' staged by the artist are flashed onto a wall covered in phosphorescent, or 'glow-in-the dark' paint. These leave temporary 'after images' that glow with a weak, yellow-green light, gradually fading again to black.
The exhibition is running from Friday April 11th from Saturday May 24th,the gallery is open 10am to 5pm Tuesday to Friday and from 11am to 4pm on Saturdays.
