Pangea Day will harness the inspirational power of film on a global scale - a simultaneous screening to millions of people worldwide of powerful human stories from many different countries and cultures.
Somerset House will feature live segments with CNN's Christiane Amanpour, comments from Mariane Pearl, the French journalist and widow of Daniel Pearl, UK author Karen Armstrong, and music by Rokia Traore.
Over 1000 events take place around the world, with key locations in Los Angeles, Kigali (Rwanda), Mumbai, Rio de Janeiro, Pyramids at Giza, Egypt and in the Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court here at Somerset House. The four-hour show includes over 20 films, 10 inspirational speakers, and live performances from different parts of the world by Dave Stewart, Bob Geldof, the Iranian band, Hypernova; Jazz legend, Gilberto Gil; Egyptian star Mohamed Mounir and Malian jazz singer, Rokia Traore.
Ticket are free but must be booked in advance through Ticketmaster.

How to get there
The closest mainline stations to Somerset House are Charing Cross, Waterloo and Blackfriars, for the tube use Charing Cross, Embankment, Temple and Covent Garden. If you are on the bus the 4, 6, 9, 11, 13, 15, 21, 23, 47, 53, 77a, 91, 168, 171, 172, 176, 185, 188, 341 and RV1 all serve the area.
