The Fabulous Picture Show - 'The Escapist'
Join Joseph Fiennes for a screening of 'The Escapist' at the Fabulous Picture Show
The Fabulous Picture show is a free event during which a film is screened and afterwards the audience is invited to discuss some issues raised by the film.
On Friday, April 11th there will be a special screening of 'The Escapist'.
The Escapist is about an inmate Frank Perry (Brian Cox), an institutionalised convict, twelve years into a life sentence without parole. When his estranged daughter falls ill, he is determined to make peace with her before it is too late. He develops an ingenious escape plan and recruits a dysfunctional band of escapists with a mutual dislike for one other but united by their desire to escape their hell hole of an existence.
Much of the action takes place within the tunnels, sewers and underground rivers of subterranean London. A gripping thriller that showcases the best of British talent and after being compared to Escape from Alcatraz, this is one film that will keep you close to the edge of your seat all the way through.
After the screening of The Escapist, audience members will have the chance to discuss the film with its director, Rupert Wyatt and actor Joseph Fiennes, in a Q&A hosted by journalist Amanda Palmer
The film will be screened at the Everyman Cinema Club in Hampstead, doors open at 12pm. You can apply for tickets through Standing Room Only.
