The Thames - Tom Young
Take a look at Tom Young's views of 'The Thames' at the Russell Gallery in Putney
The Russell Gallery is currently hosting Tom Young's second solo exhibition, 'The Thames'.
Tom's inspiration for this show is his attraction to the element of water and how it can be express it's essence in paint in the changing seasons and lights. He is fascinated by the historic links between the Thames and London and how this is reflected in images of the riverscape and London's skyline.
A trained architect, he views the constantly evolving city skylines and how the architecture's character affects the river; particularly the many bridges across the Thames from Marlow to Wapping.
This exhibition offers a journey along the Thames from dawn in Chelsea, through to Dusk at Hammersmith Bridge, Night Fall in Putney and Moonlight near Marlow.
The exhibition runs from Thursday March 27th to Saturday April 12th. The gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 5.30pm.
