Paradise Gardens

This Bank Holiday weekend Victoria Park in Hackney will be exploding with music and festivities as Paradise Gardens takes over, this fantastic family friendly festival will feature music, dance workshops, street art, theatre and much more, a treat for the entire family. www.paradisegardens.org.uk

Going Green - Museum of Childhood

This May half term keep your kids entertained with lots of fun activities at the Museum of Childhood. Everyday during term time, the Activity Assistants at the MoC run a range of sessions for children and families to enjoy the galleries from making recycled toys to story telling sessions. www.vam.ac.uk/moc

Flux Olympiad
24/05/08 - 26/05/08

This Bank Holiday weekend the Turbine Hall at the Tate Modern will be transformed into a spectacular sports arena to house the first ever Flux-Olympiad. During May Flux-athletes and visitors will be able to take part in a wide range of flux-sports including soccer games played on stilts, obstacle shoe races, slow speed bicycle races, and the balloon shotput. www.tate.org.uk/modern

Pantaloons - Taming of the Shrew

The Scoop at More London is this May hosting the Pantaloon's version of the Taming of the Shrew. This theatre troupe of five will be performing an accessible interpretation of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew in a fun and playful style that would have been an important part of the 17th century performances. This is a fab way to introduce children to Shakespeare. www.morelondon.co.uk

Family Workshops - Somerset House
24/05/08 and 26/05/08

Enjoy hands on family workshops at Somerset House this May half-term. Themes for the week are 'Building Materials', 'Textures and Trace' and 'A Different Storey'. Children between the ages of 6 and 12 years old are welcome to attend the Saturday workshops while kids of all ages can turn up and enjoy activities on Bank Holiday Monday. www.somersethouse.org.uk

Thingamajigs, Gadgets and Gizmos

The Imperial War Museum is hosting week of family activities titled Thingamajigs, Gadgets and Gizmos. Children and their families are invited to join Q branch, part of the Secret Service, and help design a new series of spying gadgets to aid James Bond on his latest mission. www.london.iwm.org.uk
