Head down to the Museum in Docklands this June for a free knees up!

late_mid_big.jpgCabaret party hosts and Cockney Knees Up singers Underbling & Vow regularly sing songs round the old Joanna and they are bringing their East End party spirit to Museum in Docklands.

Underbling & Vow will be presenting Nana Rosie & Young Rosie with Cyril Millions on piano. They will be leading the audience in a merry singalong with old time Music Hall songs in a good old fashioned East End Cockney Knees Up.

Everyone will be Up the Elephant, Down the Strand, Underneath the Arches and rolling the barrel all the way.  It is guaranteed that by the end everyone will be singing, on their feet, with their knees up doing The Lambeth Walk Oi!

There will also be the chance to join the second event in the SABLE LitMag series of Undressing Empire - looks at three Black writers who have made a notable impact on Black Literature in Britain today, Rudy Kizermann, Una Marson and Joan Riley. Their work is introduced and discussed by three writers today who are themselves making a significant impact on the literature scene in Britain. Courttia Newland, Delia Jarett Macauley and Susan Yearwood will be discussing the legacies of the forgotten authors.

This event is taking place from 6pm to 9pm on Thursday June 5th.
