Thao will be in the Rough Trade East store for an instore gig during which she will be showing off her fascinating talents.
Thao is a 23-year old Virginia-bred songwriter has a unique voice, natural sense for a good melody, and striking lyrics, skilful guitar plucking and her deadly dry sense of humour.
Thao really is a star in the making; sounding like cat power in cowboy boots, with her perky strumming guitar, bluegrass tinged banjo, giddy sense of self and uninhibited vulnerability, Thao manages that rare combination of songs that sound happy but are, at times so sad.
Thao will be performing at the Rough Trade East store on Thursday May 22nd from 6pm, so get down there and check her out.
