Check out one of London's best free festivals - the Lambeth Country Fair on Brockwell Park

lambeth240.jpgThe coolest outdoor free festival in South London will once again be held in Brockwell Park near Brixton on Saturday 19 July and Sunday 20 July 2008.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Lambeth Country Show - or festival - it's a family-friendly smorgasbord of music, arts, crafts, funfair rides, outdoor zoos and steam engines. All presented with a typically  South London vibe - as in plenty of sunshine, reggae, brass bands, warm smiles and chilled beers.

It's like a little bit of Glastonbury or Womad relocated to SE24 - kids will love seeing and hearing the massive Harry Potter-ish owls twitting and twooing while dads will get fascinated by seeing a 120-year old, 10-ton steam engine put through its paces.

Performing at this year's event will be Omar, Alton Ellis, Natty, The Thirst, Thabani, Magda Sinit, Etchoo and Dee Griffiths.
