ocontemporary - Looking For Myself
Explore the world of Brazilian street art with ocontemporary at Gallery 27
ocontemporary is proud to present Looking For Myself, an exciting new solo exhibition and installation by celebrated Brazilian street art pioneer Tinho at Gallery 27.
Tinho, 33 years old, developed his passion for graffiti growing up amidst the unique atmosphere of São Paulo, Brazil's street art capital. His early love for drawing was later influenced by skateboarding, punk and hip-hop, which then led to the underground cultures of graffiti.
Intensely vibrant and emotive, Tinho's innate ability to paint emotion and the human condition inspires an unparalleled reaction to his work. He describes himself as an artist who 'understands the soul of his age and tries to translate it into art', using characters and scenarios to huge sensitivity in his paintings to do this.
Having long boasted a particularly rich and diverse urban art scene, Brazil's uniquely colourful and exciting approach to street art has, in a short time, propelled it to the very forefront of the global Graffiti movement.
This exciting new exhibition is taking place from Wednesday July 23rd to Sunday August 3rd. The gallery is open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm.
