East London hot-spot spreads the love with gratis gigs
Free gigs and beats are the order of the evening tonight at hipster favourite 93 Feet East on Brick Lane, with its 90 Free Fridays sponsors Red Shift Rebels charging Joshua Idehen (Scroobius Pip) with compare duties between the main room and the bar.
Onstage Mozzy Green promise gorgeous melodies with a spare line-up of acoustic guitar, cello and drums, while singer-songwriter Jake Morley duffs up his axe with bluegrass style slaps and beats - though clearly leaving the instrument intact enough to provide what fans describe as melodies of honest intensity. J-Treole - 'alternative hip-hop' - round off the trio, offering funky beats under live bass and breaks.
Meanwhile over the in bar things are (literally) more upbeat with DJs Small Animals, P-Tek and Overview manning the wheels of steel.
