If art, performance, and hanging around creepy locations is top of your agenda, then look no further than the free event that marks the opening night of Illumini, an exhibition inspired by light that takes place in the wonderfully spooky Crypt at St Pancras Church on 4th September from 6-9pm.

Keen to avoid the rarified ambience of most private views, curator Jane Webb has put together a night of performance aimed at entertaining the family, with turns from Cambridge University Fire Troupe, Jedi Jugglers, Rhythm & Balls Juggling Club and The Impromptu Collective, who between them offer fire eaters, jugglers, stilt walkers and performance artists.

And if you're more interested in the show, there's work from 15 artists, each addressing the idea of light: Mercedes Altuna, Madi Boyd, David Chalkley, Vincenzo Di Maria, Lewis Hayward, Caroline Lambard, Jayne Lloyd, Liz murfitt, Adrian Navarro, Silviu Pascalin, Suzan Swale, Matthew Swift, Andrea Tyrimos, Jane Webb and Deon Winter.

The exhibition, also free, runs until 17th September and is open daily from 11am-7pm.

How to get there (entrance to the Crypt is off Duke's road):

By tube: King's Cross St Pancras Station (Northern, Piccadilly, Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan, Victoria and East London Lines)

By bus: 45, 63, 46, 214
