Win tickets to the premiere of the new version of Evelyn Waugh's classic novel

We have five pairs of tickets to the premiere of the film Brideshead Revisited to give away.

The premiere takes place on Monday 29 September at 6.30pm at the Chelsea Cinema, Kings Road. The film stars Emma Thompson, Matthew Goode and Ben Whishaw, all of whom will be attending the premiere.

The film is based on Evelyn Waugh's novel, an evocative story of forbidden love and the loss of innocence set in pre-WWII  England . It begins in 1925 at Oxford where Charles Ryder (Matthew Goode, Match Point) is befriended by the louche and flamboyant Sebastian Flyte (Ben Whishaw, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer), son of Lord and Lady Marchmain (Michael Gambon and Academy Award-winner Emma Thompson).

Charles is quickly seduced by his friend's opulent and glamorous world and thrilled by an invitation to 'Brideshead', the Marchmain's magnificent ancestral home.  Beguiled by his surroundings, Charles becomes infatuated with Sebastian's beautiful sister, Julia (Hayley Atwell, The Duchess), but as his emotional attachment to the young Marchmains grows, Charles finds himself increasingly at odds with the family's strongest bond: a deep and abiding Catholic faith.

To win a pair of tickets to the premiere, please answer this question:

Who played Charles and Sebastian in the acclaimed 1981 TV version of Brideshead Revisited:

(a) Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger

(b) Anthony Andrews and Jeremy Irons

(c) Jean-Claud Van Damme and Chuck Norris

Catch the last couple of days of inspirational amateur artistry

our_lives_body.jpg

There's still a couple of days left to catch Our Lives at the Mall Galleries where the short-listed amateur photographers who entered this year's Currys' Digital Photography Competition are having a West End show of their very own.

The 145 people who made it through to the last round were asked to submit an image that captures their world as a Briton, from culture to work, play, environment and beyond. The result is a hugely diverse body of photos focusing on every possible aspect of life, from the most intimate private moments to the emotional bombast of sporting events. The winner of the £1,000 prize is announced on Saturday 16th August at a private evening do, but the exhibition is open to all until 4pm that day. You might even be inspired to upgrade that mini-pixel camera and brave a better model.

Open 10-5pm (except on the last day when the gallery closes at 4pm).

Win tickets to see Mystery Jets perform in London thanks to Gaymers Cider!!!!

Mystery Jets - main].jpgThis May, Gaymers cider is proud to present a series of must see, money-can't-buy music performances by some of the UK's hottest acts.

Featuring four bands packed full of English character, Gaymers Grassroots Gigs will see The Futureheads,Young Knives, Mystery Jets and a fourth band tbc return to their hometown roots and perform exclusive sets to small crowds at intimate venues, back where all the magic began.

Each performance offers music fans the chance to see these established acts in the humble surroundings of the pub, club or venue that used to be part of their regular gig circuit, as they strived to make a mark on the music scene.  With each band having new or recently released albums, the Gaymers Grassroots Gigs are guaranteed to mix eclectic new tracks with a collection of well loved and established anthems.

The gigs come to London on May 29th with Mystery Jets performing at a secret Twickenham venue. A typically unorthodox band on the music scene, Mystery Jets was initially formed by Blaine Harrison and his dad Henry, before being joined by Blaine's school friends Will and Kai and recruiting drummer, Kapil. Their second album 'Twenty One' was released in March and while still heavily involved in the song writing, Henry has taken a step back from performing and the band now perform as a quartet.

Back in West London for a one-off exclusive gig with Gaymers Grassroots gigs, Mystery Jets are returning having made a huge stylistic and emotional leap forward.

The new album produced largely by DJ legend Erol Alkan is a clear departure from their debut album and features folk singer Laura Marling on their hit single 'Young Love'.

To win tickets for you and a mate answer the following question:

What is the name of the Gaymers cider music tour?

Gaymers_ickle.jpga. Gaymers Grassroots Gigs
b. Gaymers Sandstone Shows
c. Gaymers  Concrete Concerts

Email your answer to info@projectbadger.com ensuring you have 'Mysteryu Jets' in your subject box.

If you're not lucky enough to win a ticket, you can catch it all on the Gaymersmusic.com website, which will also feature exclusive content from the gigs and interviews with the bands.

Please note, this competiton is only suitable for those over the age of 18 years, ID may be required, also, no transport or accomodation is included in the prize.

Win tickets to see Ejector Seat perform at the Water Rats Theatre in Kings Cross

ejectorseat_main.jpgTHIS COMP IS NOW CLOSED - WINNER - SIMON ROBERTSON

We are giving away a pair of tickets to see the infectious Ejector Seat perform this spring.

Ejector Seat all knew each other at school, although they weren't really what you'd call friends. Phil was an unapproachable type who used to bully a young Luke in the dinner queue at lunch times. Pete and Gary just used to mess about in the music department at every available opportunity, which is where the musical bond formed. Their paths all crossed some years later when they formed Ejector Seat and with the inclusion of Andrew, their brand new drummer, are all now following the same path.

They describe their songs as "pop music that makes you want to dance with words that make you want to despair." Influences include The Smiths, Manic Street Preachers, The Clash, Suede and any band capable of making meaningful pop songs.

They have shared stages already with the likes of Editors, Elbow, Graham Coxon, Guilliemots and Badly Drawn Boy to name but a few, they will soon be touring in support of their new EP 'Not My Girl' and you can be there.

We are giving away a pair of tickets to their gig at the Water Rats in Kings Cross on Wednesday May 28th...to win answer the following question.

Where did the band all first meet? Was it...

a.    In prison
b.    In school
